     Highlights -- The seventh-seeded University of Denver women’s golf team finished third in the 16-team competition, defeating eighth-seeded Michigan State 3½-1½ in the Pioneers’ final day of competition in the fall. DU won two of its three matches at the tournament. DU’s Stephanie Sherlock went 3-0 in match play. Duke won the event, defeating Alabama 4-1.

     Highlights -- The University of Colorado women’s golf team won the fourth tournament in program history, claiming the Texas State Challenge by one stroke. The Buffs, who shot 928 for three rounds, edged Texas Tech and host Texas State, who tied for second place. Freshman Emily Childs finished sixth to lead CU. The Buffs finished in the top six in all their fall tournaments for the first time.

They beat their single-round record score by four shots with a final-day 282 (6 under par). CSU’s 869 tally was its best 54-hole total ever. The score moved the Rams up to an 11th-place team finish. Junior Kasey Claussen (69 Wednesday) led the Rams with a 15th-place finish.

Wax and Grady posted 4-under-par totals for three rounds. Senior Derek Tolan, who finished 12th, set the CU record for fall scoring average (71.0). DU finished fifth in the 18-team meet, while CU was ninth, Air Force 12th and Northern Colorado 18th.

     Highlights -- The Colorado State men won their fourth tournament of the fall season, claiming the Sycuan title by one stroke over Cal-Santa Barbara. The Rams finished at 27 under par. In a very tight tournament, UC-Santa Barbara came in one stroke behind, San Diego two back, and Denver four behind. CSU’s Bryce Hanstad placed second individually, four shots behind champion Dustin Garza of Wichita State. DU senior Daniel Wax came in third, one behind Hanstad.      Highlights -- The CSU men won their third tournament of the fall, convincingly defending their team title at the Del Walker Intercollegiate. With a 41-under-par total, the Rams set their 54-hole scoring record and won by 23 shots over Cal-Irvine. CSU freshman Zahkai Brown, winner of the 2007 5A Colorado state high school title, ran away from the field for his first college victory. Brown closed with a 5-under-par 67 for a 17-under 196 total and an eight-shot win. The Rams placed four players in the top six, with Dustin Morris finishing second, Bryce Hanstad fourth and Zen Brown sixth.

     Highlights -- University of Denver junior Stephanie Sherlock finished 27th at the World Amateur Team Championships. Sherlock, competing for her native Canada, posted rounds of 75-73-79-72 for a 9-over-par 299 total. Sweden‘s Carolina Hedwall won the tournament with a 10-under 280 total. Sweden also claimed the team competition by 12 strokes. Canada finished fourth as a team, also behind Spain (second place) and the U.S. (third).

     Highlights -- The Colorado State men won their second tournament of the season, and University of Denver senior Daniel Wax claimed the individual title at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate. With an 877 total for three rounds, CSU won the tournament by seven strokes over Idaho. The Rams placed three players in the top 10 -- Dustin Morris (fourth), and brothers Zen and Zahkai Brown (tied for eighth). Meanwhile, DU’s Wax captured his first college individual title, tying for the top spot with Kevin Walker of Washington State, leading the Pioneers to a fourth-place team showing. Wax and Walker finished at 3 under par.

    Highlights -- CU senior Derek Tolan tied for the individual title for the second time in his first three college tournaments of the season. Tolan’s even-par 72 Saturday left him at 5-under-par 211 overall. Eddie Olson of UNLV, who shot 70 Saturday, also finished at that total. Tolan won his the first college title of his career earlier this month at the San Francisco Intercollegiate, tying for the top spot. In Albuquerque, The Buffs posted a fourth-place showing as a team, coming in 16 shots behind champion UNLV.

   Highlights -- Junior Stephanie Sherlock won her sixth college tournament and her University of Denver team won its Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate for the fifth straight year. Sherlock shot a final-round 68 to prevail by two strokes over UC-Irvine’s Jane Chin. DU’s Dawn Shockley was fifth. Oklahoma freshman Brooke Collins, a former Colorado high school champion, finished 24th. DU posted the third-best team score in program history, an 8-under-par 280 on Wednesday. With an 11-under 853 total, the Pioneers won the team competition by 27 strokes.

     Highlights -- The Colorado State men won their season opener and Ram junior Bryce Hanstad captured the individual title at the 17-team Falcon Invitational. CSU finished with a tournament-record total of 27-under-par 837, 11 shots better than second-place UNLV, the 22nd-ranked team in the nation. Hanstad and CSU teammate Riley Arp ended up 1-2 in the individual standings. Hanstad’s final-round 67 left him at 11-under-par 205 overall, while Arp closed with a 69 for a 208 total. CSU’s Dustin Morris also placed in the top 10, in seventh. Meanwhile, Air Force came in sixth in the team standings, with AFA’s Tom Whitney placing sixth individually at 212. Northern Colorado, led by Steve Bidne and Kory Harrell (29th place), finished 11th, while Colorado-Colorado Springs was 13th behind Tyler Bishop’s 17th-place showing.
